Shooting by the Bay

This past weekend, we were lucky enough to have back-to-back shoots with both Candy and Cameron. We headed out to a wetlands preserve where we’ve shot Courtney and Jake (and Yvette and PeeWee and Zoe and Lance) in years past, hoping to get some more great shots!
When we got to the familiar wooden structure, much to our dismay, we found out that the swallows had invaded. Under the eaves of this marvellously rich wood building, there were swallow nests crammed together with no space to spare! The nests were really not so much the problem as was the lovely deposits the swallows left on the wall, the ground… EVERYWHERE!
So, plan B.

We drove out to the boat-launching pier where there is a unique concrete structure (I’m sure you’ve seen it in many of the shoots), and commenced our shooting there. Because of the lovely weather, the boat launch was very busy, and so we had more than a few people pause and watch as the photoshoot progressed, whispering and wondering aloud who the famous kids were that were being photographed. Hopefully, this added to the excitement for Candy and Cameron, as we continued shooting and having fun.
Candy shot first, and showed the same naturalness and poise that she has since she first started modelling for the BeautifulYouth Project. Starting in a plain earth-colored outfit, and moving on, she became the latest BY model to don the angels’ wings. She finished up her shoot in a lovely summer dress (and with french braids in her hair) by the water’s edge.
Cameron declined the angels’ wings, but had fun in a jean motif, with a white-t-shirt summer look at the end of his shoot. Cameron continues to amaze me with his self-assuredness, and his willingness to lead the photoshoot along in the directions that he wants to take it. Having worked with his older sister occasionally, he was constantly saying “let’s try this” or “how about this pose?”. I hope everyone enjoys his shoot as much as I enjoyed shooting him.
